FAQ
Before you use your cellular phone
Q When does the rental period start and end?
A The rental period is from the day you depart Japan until the day you return. But when you return the rental by delivery service, the rental period is until the day you ship the rental back to us (and not the day it arrives).
Q What is the cellular phone number advance notification service?
A Customers who apply by telephone or fax can be notified of their rental cellular phone number the day before they depart Japan. We contact customers who want this service by phone at the contact number they give when reserving a rental. This service is for airport pickup only.
Customers who apply online can confirm their rental cellular phone number by clicking the Confirm reservations button on the Confirm, change, cancel reservations page.
Customers who receive the rental set by delivery can confirm your rental cellular phone number on a label in a phone case.
Q Can I use voice mail or call forwarding?
A These features are not available.

Charges and billing
Q What are the calling charges when getting calls from Japan?
A Incoming call charges apply regardless of your travel location. In addition, for both itemized billing and time count billing incoming calling charges may vary.
Q Can I receive a receipt?
A We can issue receipt to customers who prefer them. Contact World Cellular Phone Rental Center. However, when receiving same day bill calculation upon returning a rental unit at the airport counter, we ask that you make your receipt request to return counter staff (time count calculation only).

Support
Q How do I call a rental cellular phone from inside Japan?
A Dial the rental cellular phone number the usual way, starting with the 090 or 080 prefix.
Q How do I call a rental cellular phone from overseas?
A Press and hold "0" button or input the international access number, enter Japan's country code number 81, and then dial the phone number, excluding the first "0" of the local area code.
Q What about calling a user with the same overseas rental cellular phone while overseas?
A Dial the same way as when calling to Japan, starting with the international access number followed by Japan’s country code number 81 and 90 (exclude the first 0), and then the cellular phone number.
Q Can I recharge my cellular phone locally?
A Yes. The cellular phone comes with a conversion plug that can be adapted to various outlets around the world. (A voltage conversion function is incorporated in the bundled AC adapter.)
Q What to do if a rental cellular phone is lost or stolen?
A Contact us immediately to have service suspended. The user will bear any communications charges incurred before service is suspended. In addition, regardless of whether or not a user has subscribed for compensation services, if a unit is lost or stolen, documentation from the local police proving loss or theft is required.
